Join us in welcoming Derrick Hickman to the Louisville art scene. An established artist from Columbus, Ohio in his first solo show in Louisville.

His paintings revolve around the concept of memory, its constant state of evolution and how we grapple to define and make static such a nebulous concept. Text is often a vehicle used as the subject itself or as a supporting element. Always distorted or fragmented, it is meant to lead viewers as well as misguide or misdirect.

We are also featuring our very own Waller Austin. Fresh from his stint in St. Louis, he has returned with a vibrant new series of “Superman Ice Cream paintings”. This new body not only represents his efforts with a new medium (melted crayon), but also return to simplicity of composition.

Opening reception is free and open to all ages in the main gallery. Refreshments served.
